A complete list of the data files included on this CD may be found in the file "data file names.doc," which is included on this CD. The data files are saved in the following formats: Minitab portable (.mtp), Excel (.xls), and ASCII (.txt). You will need a statistical software package such as Minitab, Excel, or SPSS, (or others) to use these data files. Depending on the software package you are using, you will want to save the appropriate folder (ASCII, Minitab, or Excel) to a disk or to your hard drive. To open a Minitab portable file in Minitab, select "Open Worksheet..." from the File menu and select "Minitab Portable" from the Files of type menu in the dialog. Then find the name of the file you want to open. Technology manuals are available that provide detailed instructions for using Minitab, Excel, or the TI-83 graphing calculator for working problems and doing data analysis.
